Brandon co-founded Breakout Studio after building Fund Lab, an innovative marketing and communications platform for the financial services industry. He also founded and leads Breakout Capital, a consumer-focused investment firm. Prior to Breakout, Brandon worked in private equity and strategy consulting. He’s never met a donut he didn’t like.
Jessica is a senior designer, responsible for creating compelling solutions through conceptual exploration and exceptional design. Her background is in brand creation, primarily in the hospitality industry, from establishing the vision and identity through to execution. A cultivator of stories, she believes in getting the vision right so each project starts with a clear path to success. When “off the clock” she does stand-up and draws comics.
Kevin handles communications for Breakout Studio and sister M&A agency Fund Lab, with a unique focus on digital strategies. In his role, he helps clients strategize and execute targeted organic and paid social media campaigns that amplify their brand story among key stakeholders and are measured closely through detailed analytics. In his free time, Kevin enjoys cold brew coffee, craft beer, foodie culture and fixed-gear cycling.
Digital Marketing Manager
Michael joined Breakout Studio in 2016 as a senior developer and builds websites and email campaigns for clients. With a background as a designer and over ten years of web development experience, Michael brings a holistic perspective to both sides of the design and implementation equation. Hobbies include video games, D&D, synthesizers and painting. Big fan of red pandas and raccoons and 80s Metallica.
Michael Perry Goodman
Dave joined Breakout Studio as a creative director in 2016. He’s worked on a wide variety of projects during his career and has led teams on projects that range from consumer packaging and brand identity to financial and investor communications and enterprise website designs. Dave loves learning new things and creating work that changes how clients are seen by the world. He’s also an avid strategy gamer and a recently retired fantasy football podcaster.
Alex leads communications for Breakout Studio and sister M&A agency Fund Lab. He has handled PR for some of the most well known brands across the financial services universe and has counseled clients through a variety of reputational crises and troubled situations. Prior to Breakout Studio, Alex led teams at Edelman and Fleishman-Hillard, where he built deep relationships with influential business reporters and conference organizers. Alex is passionate about the evolution of media and journalism.
Director of Communications
Prior to joining Breakout as a designer in 2016, Claire was an editorial designer and art director at various lifestyle and city publications around the country. She is particularly interested in how the established principles of print design can be applied to the developing landscape of digital design. When she’s not designing, you can find Claire singing in her ’60s cover band or managing her dog’s social media account.
Jenn joined Breakout Studio as an associate creative director in the fall of 2017, bringing a wealth of design talent to the team. She has worked with leading brands including Target, Hyatt, IBM and Google to develop creative and effective marketing concepts, launch international corporate events and create successful branding and collateral. In her spare time, Jenn is learning French and jet-setting to obscure locations around the globe.
Associate Creative Director
Ariel joined Breakout as a writer in 2017. She helps brands distill their stories and delivers concepts and copy for websites and other written collateral. Having cut her teeth talking about road maintenance and drain pipes, she loves the challenge of presenting complicated stories in engaging ways. When she’s not writing, she’s usually writing. When she’s really not writing, she’s cooking up complicated office lunches, biking to work or frequenting Wisconsin supper clubs.
Katherine joined Breakout Studio as a designer in 2016. She focuses on visual communication through strategic design and branding across a wide range of collateral. She sees design as an opportunity to learn about the world, especially enjoying holistic branding projects. She is the reigning office botanist, propagating succulents and pruning plants when she isn’t wandering the city taking photos for Instagram or cheering on the Cubs.
Abbie joined Breakout Studio as a project manager in 2016. She works with the creative team to plan, coordinate and execute client projects. Before Breakout, Abbie earned an MBA from Southern Illinois University and master's in management from Grenoble Ecole de Management. With a passion for solving problems, Abbie enjoys helping clients from a wide array of industries achieve success. After countless pinterest fails, she has recently turned to NYT Cooking to fuel her foodie passion.
Michael joined Breakout Studio in 2016 as the director of development. He’s been building websites since the days of the <blink> tag. Previous to Breakout, he worked at VSA, JWT and Edelman, and has worked on brands including IBM, P&G, Unilever, Kraft, Nestlé and Bacardi. He has played bass and guitar for many bands you’ve never heard of.
Director of Development
As a project manager, Hana crafts overall project processes and communicates with clients on a day-to-day basis. She’s a graduate of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and brings skills in wireframing, video editing and animation to the team. Originally from Tokyo, Japan, Hana believes in the power of UI and UX design to enhance international communication. She is currently accepting recommendations for the best tiramisu in Chicago.
Chris joined Breakout in 2017 as a designer, and works with a variety of clients to develop visual identity and branded collateral. She has a master’s degree in advertising from DePaul and a certificate in graphic design from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. If she’s accepted to Hogwarts, she wants to be in Ravenclaw.
